TECHNOLOGY POLICY
Across all committees, the use of technology (laptops, iPads, tablets, phones, etc) without permission is prohibited.
In our Crisis and Specialized committees, technology is completely forbidden at all times.
In our General Assembly and ECOSOC committees, laptops are permitted at the chair’s discretion only during unmoderated caucuses for working papers/resolutions, reading periods, and amendment procedure.
Delegates are only allowed to work on their working papers during committee.
If a delegate is found to have worked on their working paper outside of committee, the working paper will be disqualified and the delegate will be ineligible for awards.
NOTE POLICY
Delegates may bring whatever notes they like with them to committee including but not limited to topic guides.
Delegates cannot pre-draft working papers and bring them to committee as “notes.”
Directors and Assistant Directors will use their discretion to ensure delegates have not pre-drafted resolutions in their notes.
If a delegate is found to have pre-drafted resolutions in their notes, their working paper will be disqualified and the delegate will be ineligible for awards.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) POLICY
All use of AI is strictly prohibited.
Delegates are not permitted to use Chat GTP or any other AI software during committee sessions.
If use of AI is detected in position papers, those position papers will be disqualified and the delegate will be ineligible for awards.
If use of AI is detected on working papers, those working papers will be disqualified and the delegate will be ineligible for awards.
You may not use AI to create your “notes” for committee sessions. This includes using AI to find sources, statistics, examples, translate sentences, or define words.
SPEECH POLICY
Delegates may write their opening committee session speech in advance of the conference and print it for committee session 1; this is the only printed speech delegates may have.
All other speeches must be delivered impromptu and cannot be written in advance.
BEHAVIOR POLICY
Bullying, Discrimination, and Harassment are strictly prohibited.
Mistreatment of delegates, Directors, Assistant Directors, or other conference staff will result in temporary removal from committee.
Repeated infractions will result in removal from the conference.
LANGUAGE POLICY
All delegates must speak the language of their committee at all times.
In all English-speaking committees, this means English must be spoken (including during an unmoderated caucus).
In all Spanish-speaking committees, this means Spanish must be spoken (including during an unmoderated caucus).
In all Portuguese-speaking committees, this means Portuguese must be spoken (including during an unmoderated caucus).
